As of 2011 EL SOUL a.k.a. JakePacheco struts his way onto the SATX scene with a "HUNGER" for making his musical mark on the industry.
His estilo is a savory union of late '50s soul and modern Hip-Hop/R&B...
glossed over with a latino twist acquired after 7 years in Mexico, on stages in Mexico City and Leon, Guanajuato with alternative funk groups like Silken Static and AudioFusion.
Born October 1982 of U.S. & Argentino descent, EL SOUL found himself checking off the "other" box in the ethnicity section of applications and surveys. Just like his "ethnicity," his style will remain outside of the box and he'll be ever so hard to squeeze into just one.
A self-proclaimed "modern mad-man" EL SOUL is product of a Rude-Boy lifestyle, and that gritty experience drips from his lyrics in a hype-less street lingo, carried across the cleanest of dirty-south vocals found today.
Having overcome that no-limits past, EL SOUL now finds his pride and inspiration in his wife and son, who are the driving fuel behind this musical quest you find him on today, and just one of the themes he breaks ground with in his songs.
